(I really must work on my gear -photographing skills!) I had this for Christmas, and what a great present. For a start, I love the colour! Bright cobalt blue.
The detailing is in turquoise, including the zips to these chest pockets, which I find very useful for car keys, money, etc, leaving the main pockets for hands, gloves, maps
The inside is purple.
The hood covers much of the face. The whole jacket is very lightweight, and actually stretchy.
Some more professional photos: it's available in jade and also red. The men's is available in purple
Worn in the snow
The hoody in action by Clent on a sub-zero December day
Enough about the looks - what about the performance? I have worn it for every single walk since I got it, and so I feel well able to judge
Temperature: I can confirm that it does do what the manufacturers claim. Despite it being so light, it is very warm. I have worn it in the snow, and right up to temperatures of about 15 degrees. I've kept it on, just opening and closing the zip when necessary.
Durability: The outer is supposed to be ripstop. I have caught it on lots of vicious brambles in the past three months, and not even a thread has snagged.
Design: I love the colour and the pockets. The hood isn't particularly flattering, but if it's that cold, who cares?
Waterproofness: It is not marketed as being waterproof, but I wore it on Sunday in a downpour and it did not leak through. I do carry a Goretex in my backpack for heavy rain, though.
Price: it retails at just under £200, and it's actually quite difficult to find, being a bit specialist, but you
could buy it here for £158.57 or here for £141.94.
My conclusion: if you can find it, and it suits your needs, buy it. It's great.
