Clent: An easy stroll with fantastic views

I've often been on the top of Clent Hill, and been impressed by the number of people up there. Today, I found out how: there's an almost flat route suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
I parked at the National Trust car park, (on Hagley Wood Lane - a minor road off the A456 main Hagley Road to Birmingham). This path starts from there

Almost from the start, the views are spectacular. You could walk here every day and never tire of the view. This bit is over to Stourbridge, towards the Woodbury Obelisk.

The Clee hills in the distance

The path sweeps right round the top of the hill

Looking back towards the Black Country - Dudley and Sandwell here

The view from the top and the stones - towards Abberley

The Four Stones are not an ancient monument - just a folly to please a rich landowner.

Towards the Wrekin in Shropshire

Dudley

The path is like this all the way: it climbs gently to the summit, but it's definitely suitable for wheelchairs (with pneumatic wheels anyway)

Near the car park is this fantastic wild play area for children, with huts, and logs for climbing on.
There's a great National Trust cafe in the car park! Open 10-4, I think.

Today's Walk: park at the National trust Car park on Hagley Wood Lane (costs £2.50 if not a member). Turn right along the path which starts from the car park. Keep on the level, wide path round the edge of Clent Hill gently climbing at the end, until you reach the Four Stones at the summit. Return by the same route: 1.4 miles
