Monarch's Way: Chaddesley Corbett to Hagley

Time for the next section of the Monarch's Way: we're completing it a bit at a time.
Starting at Chaddesley Corbett, Worcs, we parked at the Talbot - currently to let.

Chaddesley is a lovely place, and well worth a visit. I posted a blog about my visit in February, which you can see here
Anyway, we walked out of the village
...and down this narrow lane,...

...before turning off along the path. At this point we wondered whether we should have brought a coat! (Not needed)

There are good views across open farmland

Approaching Harvington Hall (just glimpsed through the trees)

We diverted to take a look, but didn't have time to go inside. For opening times and details, click here
More details about the Elizabethan hall can be found here

It looks very interesting - we may visit in the future

Back on the path, the sky still glowered
...but the sheep were happy enough.

It's lovely when a path is clear and easy to follow

We were particularly taken with this timbered Worcestershire house: Bellington Farm

And just beyond it was this delightful glade...
...which once had a mill, now ruined.

The signpost with the Monarch's Way logo points back the way we have come, as well as ahead (it's signposted in both directions). Our route is straight over the road to the path beyond.
...of which, more in the next post. (Tomorrow)

Today's route: starting at Chaddesley Corbett, we followed the Monarch's Way, to Harvington (slight detour to see the hall), then on to Barnett Hill and the edge of Blakedown. Next comes Stakenbridge, and finally the Monarch's Way joins forces with the North Worcestershire Path into Hagley. This is 8 miles of delightful, well-signposted walking. We left a car at each end but it can be done by bus.
You can buy copies of the Monarch's Way guidebooks here - and it is marked on the Ordnance Survey maps, and is well waymarked, so it really is a good route to try.
