Arley Circular - a winter favourite revisited in summer

This is a great winter walk, but it's also fantastic in summer.
Easy to follow, as it's well-signed throughout.
Starting at Upper Arley, on the River Severn

The pedestrian bridge shows how wide the river is at this point.

But you stay on the Upper Arley side...
...with lovely views of the river...
 ...and the occasional passing train.

Trimpley reservoir

Another train came past

...and disappeared in a cloud of smoke

We were taken by the grammar of this sign, and we did notice there was no parking here

The path continues thriving crops of wheat (brown earth when I last came past)

And on, past cattle lazing in the sunshine
 Though some were more curious

The drive to Arley Arboretum (with a great tea shop, if you are planning to do this walk)

Interesting castellations in Arley Park
This is such a good walk. There's some climbing, so you know you've done it! 4 miles, and easy to follow. Can easily be done on a summer's evening, as I did (but the cafes are shut!)

Today's walk; 4 mile circular, and signposted, following pictures of a ferryman's blue boat. Start either by the riverside at Upper Arley (good cafe there). or from the Arboretum (finishing at the cafe there). Or park the other side of the river, and walk across the pedestrian bridge.
