Arley - the rest of the Circular Walk

This walk continues the Upper Arley Circular Walk, which started on yesterday's blog.

Walking by the side of Trimpley Reservoir,...

... I followed the route up to the Severn Valley Railway crossing

Looking back to the reservoir.

Walking back through Eymore Woods

There are extensive views across the fields towards the Clee Hills

Emerging on to the Arley road, ...

...the route is now a permissive path (not on the Ordnance Survey map).

It leads to Arley Arboretum.

Through these gates, ...

...and past the lambs

There's a tearoom for those people who need a reward for their hard walking. I hadn't time to try it, but I definitely will. (There's another tearoom by the river too)

View from the gatehouse of the previous picture

Into the village of Arley

This is a puzzle to me: all the the beams are stuck on: it's not timbered at all really.

Arley seems to have more crenellations than the average village!

Reaching the river again

Final view back along the start of the walk
Today's walk: this is the second part of the 4 mile Upper Arley Circular Walk. It really is well signposted - I didn't use my map at all. There are a few steep (but mercifully short) climbs, and there was quite a lot of mud early on. But the views are fantastic. One to try: give it a go.
