Himley gets ready for the bonfire

There is always a massive bonfire at Himley Hall. The preparations are going ahead
Scaffolding stretches across the lake...

...although the far end looks much as normal

 Ticket collection points

Looking back from the far end of the lake, two swns carry on as normal

There is portable fencing everywhere

A view from Himley Hall's patio

The huge bonfire. That's a door on the right, to give you some idea of the height

The lake scaffolding again.

It doesn't seem to worry the coots

 Food stalls are arriving...
...and so are the fairground rides

 Another arrived as I watched
The banks of (necessary) toilets
The park is closed to the public from tomorrow (Friday 7th), and the bonfire is on Saturday. The park re-opens on Sunday afternoon
A huge amount of work is needed to put on such a large event. I hope these pictures have given you some idea.

Today's walk: round Himley's lake, and back through the funfair site. About 1.5 miles of easy - but very interesting - walking.
