The canal near Saltwells

I fell downstairs earlier in the week, and have found walking a bit difficult (shoulder/arm problems)
So I went walking in my wellies (no need to do up walking boots) and with no rucksack (can't get it on!)
I started at the canal bridge on Northfield Road

The sun was already going down. This is quite a large group of house boats: I had no idea they were there

The signage is great - there are information boards all along the canal

There are good views over the rooftops towards the Clent Hills

This bridge is called Primrose Bridge...
...but according to this sign it is  known locally as Astles Bridge because there was always some graffiti here celebrating a goal by Geoff Astle in the 1968 FA Cup Final

A little further on, someone has gone to the trouble of putting a little carving of a coot on the wall

Then, what a surprise. Right in the middle of the industrial Black Country, Lodge Farm Reservoir

The orange  structure is a ramp for speed boats
 The sunset was lovely
More tomorrow - including walk details
