Leaving Bumble Hole behind, I turned towards Halesowen
I could see the masts on Turners Hill, which is the highest point in the county of the West Midlands
This was an engine house, for the coal mine
The area was still beautiful, and fairly rural. So difficult to believe it's right next to houses and traffic!
The ridges were done by the ropes of horse-drawn boats
The lone fisherman of the day had caught nothing - he said it was a bit late in the year
Another sign, by a disused toll house
The tollman has sprayed the graffiti "Tollman was ere!" (it was cut out of metal, really)
Factory far below. I didn't see what it was
In parts, the outside world encroached
But in general, this was a lovely walk - and there were lots of people doing it too.
Returning towards Bumblehole
The canal is like a linear park - and is in very good condition - this towpath is suitable for wheelchairs.
I'll definitely investigate further
