Staffordshire Way - Brewood

I began the next section of the Staffordshire Way on Friday. Starting in Brewood,...

...where there are some nice shops.

This is Speedwell Castle - built from the proceeds of a bet. On a horse called Speedwell
There's a one bedroom apartment available to rent at £104 pwk

There are other nice houses too

Must be a bit dark in here. Windows painted on!

The Catholic church, designed by Pugin

Reaching the bridge, and the pub of the same name.
I left my map on this bridge by accident. It had disappeared when I went back to look. Shame on you Brewood! So this walk was done without a map.

 It started along the canal

Some people were getting ready to hire this narrow boat for the weekend (or possibly week - they had a lot of luggage)

The canal is on an embankment, with views over the fields

A lovely Autumn Day

A traditional milepost
To be continued...
